It’s Monday, May 9, 2005 and if you are a Ripon Rotarian you should be here at Royal Ridges 12:00 noon and meet the rest of your club members.
Greeted today by Larry Trotter, who also rendered prayer.
Jean Busker, our smiling, capable President at the podium.
Guesting with us today were Juan Pablo Peneloza, our inbounder from Venezuela and T.J.Mlodzik – RHS student of the month.
Announcements:
(1) Linda Kempel – The Respite Care coordinator for Fond du Lac County, is seeking possible Rotarian volunteers to give 1 to 2 hours a month, for several younger men in the Ripon area, who have suffered traumatic brain injury or stroke. Take them to ball games, fishing or just include them in family outings. If interested contact Linda @(920)906-5174.
(2) Nita – Our attendance needs a boast. Perhaps rendering fines may be the answer.
(3) David Sakrison – Paid a buck to announce Open House at Cedar Ridge Ranch, Saturday May 21. They have a beautiful, newborn Buckskin filly to see!!
(4) No noon meeting next week. Get your attendance by attending the Rotary Scholarship dinner at C.J’s – 5 to 7 p.m. Keep selling tickets until Wednesday May 11. Our club gives $2500 in scholarships and people this money has to come from all of us!! Support this event, please!! Donations for the raffle still needed. Take them to Karen Luker at Anchor Bank. Still need 3 volunteers to help wash dishes and bus tables.
(5) Diane Shady reminds all to be prepared at the noon meeting on June 6 to have our picture taken in formation of the Rotary Wheel outside.
(6) Sue Finch Brown still seeking a host family for our new inbounder from Germany – first semester to January 2006. She has a host for the 2nd semester.
(7) Juan Pablo will attend World Affairs Seminar with, hopefully, another RHS student.
(8) Kathy Schwandt announces Eggs and Issues Breakfast at Royal Ridges, Tuesday May 17 – 7:00 a.m. Have breakfast and listen to your government officials respond to questions. If you attend, this breakfast, you will be credited a Rotary meeting make-up. Only $5.00. Make your reservation by calling 748-6764 (Chamber of Commerce) The buffet line will open at 6:45. Meeting starts at 7:00 a.m.
(9) Dean Rogers installed our newest member, John Rohde, who was sponsored by Rick Coles. John resides in Ripon, works as a Printron Rep, coaches football at Ripon College and now is in Real Estate also. Meet and make John welcome. He is married to Michelle and they have 2 young daughters.
(10) Nita announced, our new president elect to be Lee Prellwitz. Lee will be our leader in 2006-2007. Congratulations, Lee, I know you will do well.
(11) President Jean announced she has nominated our club for a Public Service Award. She has also nominated a Ripon Rotarian for a Distinguished Service Award, but I can’t remember his name.!!
Program: Jane Schueler, standing in for Bill Woolley, introduced Desiree Bonger, new librarian at the Ripon Public Library. A highly qualified person, she listed the services available at the library and it’s many factions. A lot of these can be seen by going on line. (www.riponlibrary.org.)
