Some chip off the old block won a trip to Florida at Riponfest, thanks to the Ripon Rotary Club.

Local Rotarians have held their second annual Golf Chipping Contest near the entrance to Barlow Park.
The event provided participants with clubs and balls and featured two holes, running simultaneously, about 40 yards from tee to hole. Chipping was offered each day of Riponfest from opening to dusk at a cost of $1 dollar per ball or four shots for $3.

Three concentric circles were drawn around each hole. Any ball that landed inside the larger circle won an
additional shot. Any ball that landed inside the middle circle entered the shooters into the prize drawing.
A ball inside the small circle entered the golfer's name in a grand-prize drawing for a trip to Florida.

More than thirty additional prizes were given away including Green Bay Packer tickets,
Wisconsin Badger tickets, U.S. Savings Bonds, golf packages, and golf equipment.

Proceeds form the contest are used to support Ripon Rotary projects including, but not limited to, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Badger Boys and Girls State students, inbound and outbound foreign exchange students, Scholarships and more.
