Volume XXVII                                       Issue # 28                                                       Feb. 18, 2008

If the world is cold, make it your business to build fires.

It’s Monday.  It’s 12:00 noon!  If you are a Ripon Rotarian, this is where you should be .  Royal Ridges.

Our greeter, John Rockwood, was absent so President, Lee Prellwitz, again, gave his 4-way test oriented prayer excellently!!!

3 guests with us on this snowy day.

(1)     Janira Romero – Spanish inbounder.

(2)     Anna Jankowski – R.H.S. Student of month

(3)     Diana Tscheschlok – Our speaker and wife of member, Christian.

Board meeting today -- $10,000 for sign at Ingall’s Field & pledge of $25,000 to Fr. Wally’s Dam project.

Janira and Anna both given a valentine box of chocolates for guessing 380 applicants for the Alliance Job.

Happy Bucks                (1) Kim for successful Valentine Party, even though weather was terrible

                                (2) David Sakrison – In November of winter 1880-81, Lake Mendota froze solid ‘til May.

(4)     Tim – Great performance at Thrasher Opera House – Blues Harmonica and chamber music.

Sgt at Arms: Coach Rick Coles and his Ripon College Swim Team placed 3rd. in the Conference meet over the weekend – highest ever!!!  Congrats.  Our table was the only one that didn’t pay.

Keep selling Roses.  We are 100 dozen short of our goal.  Note:  If each member sold 10 dozen, our goal would be exceeded!!  How many have you sold???  March 5 --- Rose Day!!!

Program:  Christian Tscheschlok introduced his wife, Diana, who is the Community Development Educator at U.W. Extension in Fond du Lac, speaking primarily about the Immersion experience planned for Aug. 16-23, 2008 (tentative) at the Cuernavaca Center for Intercultural Dialogue on Development at Cuernavaca, Mexico.

This experience is the opportunity to learn about the social and economic content of immigration, Mexican family culture and cross-cultural dialogue through site visits and a possible service project..

The goals of the trip are to have participants have increased commitment of cross-cultural dialogue, understanding the content of Latin-American immigration to the U.S., and appreciation for Mexican cultures, a motivation for working towards diversity as an integral characteristic of our local community.

If interested contact Diana, Denise and Marie at U.W. Extension (920) 929-3170.

Thanks Christian and Diana for this interesting program.

Next Week:  Greeter & Prayer – David Duehring

Program – A presentation by Man of the Year, Dave Schoff and his 3rd. grade Lego Builders.

The Lego presentation will begin at 12:15 and our business meeting will be after this program.

Thought for today:  Lord --- I know You hear me when I pray.  Keep me silent so that I may hear you when you reply.  Amen.                                Congress passes bills and the taxpayers pay them.
