(2) Hsiang Yiy Hsu (Daniel) – Inbounder from Taiwan. (3) Mandy Mlodzik – R.H.S. Student of month – Active athlete and student. Would like to be an Athletic Trainer and also do P.T. Mandy is the daughter of Steve and Kathy Mlodzik. Your scribe bowled with Steve, years ago.. Announcements: (1) President Lee reports net profit of $3,400 - $3,500 on Citrus Sale (2) Kathy Ginder reports Salvation Army Bell Ringers in Ripon collected $15,000. Rotary Ringers collected $1,900.00. (3) Board Meeting next Monday. (4) Club Assembly – January 22. (5) Next Strive meeting will be January 25 and consist of a field trip to M.P.T.C. (6) Our club is to receive a $1,000 grant from the District to publicize Rotary in our community – Radio, etc. (7) Dan Tjernagel announced that a R.H.S. are State Champs in “We The People” competition in Civics, sponsored by the STATE BAR Association. They will participate in National Finals in Washington, D.C. (8) Noah Schnel Harrison will be Rotary Rep in this years World Affairs Seminar. (9) Service Clubs of Ripon – Valentines Party at Ripon College – Wednesday, February 14. $20.00 per plate. 6:00 cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. 7:00 dinner. No Sgt. at Arms present: President Lee announced Happy $$$ donation!! David Sakrison on his new book on The Trumpeter Swan. Bill Denkert on his 3rd. entry in the School Board election and if elected will have monthly listening sessions with his constituents. Pru Precourt on fund raising. Kathy Ginder thanking Laurie Kasuboski for her painting. Lynn Corder on her daughter living in Japan. P. Holliday on Tony and Tina’s Italian wedding at Royal Ridges. Sue Finch Brown for Pascal’s attendance. Tom Worrall for Bob & Gladys Gray’s 50th anniversary. Roy Yeomans on golfing in January and his soon to be great grandfather again. Tim Lyke for his son, Mom and Elvis’ Birthday and Laurie Kasuboski for her 18 holes of golf at Mascoutin, Friday. Program: Nita introduced Ripon’s City Administrator, Steve Barg. Steve has been here 10 years and likes Ripon as much as when he arrived. As Tim Lyke later said, “The City likes you too, Steve”!! He touched on all spots of interest. New Industrial Park land, Economic development, Metomen landscaping, Alley and parking behind hotel, Penn Travel, Ripon Drug, the City’s operation of the Water Utility since 2005, now 1 year old, subdivisions by Rogers on Stoney Ridge and Dr. Robert House division, Town and City planning, Sale of the Senior Center building and relocation of the Seniors. New contracts with Police and Public Works personnel – 2008-2010. What to do about deer in the city and fire district, as well as the rumor that Aurora Healthcare is looking at Ripon. As usual, Steve, thanks for an informative program.
