Volume XXVI                                                  Issue # 39                                                 March 5, 2007

Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience;  for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of, a blessing that money cannot buy.

Izzak Walton ( courtesy of President Lee Prellwitz)

Todays meeting was held at Ripon Medical Center; those of us attending as guests of the Center, were treated to a pork tenderloin, vegetables, mashed potatoes, rolls, toss salad, beverage and dessert and all free of charge.

The sad part, there was only 19 Rotarians attending.  We have a membership of 50 – where in the world were the rest of you??  Those who didn’t attend, should send an apology to Tommy Hobbs for the meals prepared and wasted!!

Greeter and prayer – Lori Rich

In charge – Our President, Lee Prellwitz

Guests (1) Nasif Rogers – Ripon College student of month who expressed his thanks for being with us this past month.

            (2) Alana Etter – Ripon College – guest of Kathy Schwandt

Presentation – Lee presented a $750.00 check from our club to Tommy Hobbs.  Health is one of Rotary International Cornerstones this year.  The money will be toward an enhanced B.P.Detector.

Roses – Laurie reports 500 dozen sold, but keep selling and report your sales to Laurie Kasuboski.

Bill Denkert explained $1,000 grant from Rotary International to be used by both the radio station and Ripon Commonwealth as P.R. stint to get new members, encourage them to attend our meetings.

Sgt. at Arms:  Sgt Rick Coles levied $1.00 fine on President Lee for not having the bell at the meeting and having to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to a window, and excused the rest of us.

Program:  Pru Precourt introduced fellow Rotarian and C.E.O. of Ripon Medical Center, Tommy Hobbs.  Tommy spoke again of the proposed clinic to be built in Green Lake in cooperation with  C.H.N.

He spoke of R.M.C. mission to provide Quality healthcare with a personalized approach.  Changes must be made to stay adequate.  R.M.C. has a new food service, and their new drive in blood draw, has been written up in National Health Magazines.  He presented hand outs showing that Ripon Medical Center gave nearly $1,000,000 (calculated at cost) to the communities the Center serves.

Thanks, again, for lunch today, Tommy and Pru.
