Announcements:            

  • Dave Duehring paid a happy buck in honor of his and Karen’s first anniversary on Friday May 25th. Chuck and Karen     Larson celebrate their anniversary on May 25th as well – 35 years.
  • Kathy Ginder paid a happy $5 in honor of Armed Services Day.
  • We need to find a first host family by this Friday to submit paperwork for our inbound student. 
  • Doug Bradley & Lee Prellwitz presented scholarships at the RHS awards last Wednesday.

Upcoming Events:    

  • May 22nd – Red Cross blood drive at Mt. Zion church from 11:30 to 5:30.
  • May 28th – Memorial Day – no meeting.
  • June 1st – Ripon Rotary sponsoring first Concert on the Green. 7:00 to 10:00. Show up and support Rotary. Tim Lyke and his group, Quest and the Ripon Horns, will be playing.
  • June 2nd – Adopt-a-Highway. Meet at Royal Ridges at 8:00 AM. Contact Jane Schueler if you can help.
  • June 4th – Regular meeting will include Daniel’s presentation on Taiwan. Daniel will also serve as chef for the day, cooking the main course. The Royal Ridges chef will make bananas foster for dessert. He will do this in front of the group as a demonstration.
  • June 5th – a “FREE” leadership seminar in Milwaukee with high powered speakers. Three extra tickets available. Contact Lee if interested. 
  • June 11th – Foundation board meeting at 11:00 AM.
  • June 18th – Next regular board meeting at10:50 AM. Joint meeting of the old and new boards.
  • June 25th – Changing of the Guard dinner.
  • July 25th – first annual Ripon and Berlin Rotary golf outing.

Sgt. at Arms – Rick Coles quizzed on the STRIVE program. All tables knew sufficient information to avoid fines. Rick announced that there will be no Sgt. on June 4th because of the full program. Rick also announced that he will be performing the Sgt. function next year. It should be noted that Mr. Coles has achieved budget target in fines collected.  

Program – awards were presented to the senior members of the STRIVE program. 

  • Andy Luzenski - $750. Andy hopes to finish his preliminary work to join National Guard. Hopes to attend MPTC starting in January to work towards being an electrician. Will be graduating from RHS on Saturday.
  • Andy Anderson - $600. Andy is going to stay on the farm for now. Hopes to get training to go into construction at some point in the future. Will be graduating from RHS on Saturday.
  • Patrick Chatterson was unable to attend; we will plan to invite and recognize him at a later date.

Thought for the Day: The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life.
