Program:  Paula Price of Ripon Chamber of Commerce gave a great program with power point on the Little White School House, due for it’s Grand Opening on Saturday, May 12 beginning at 10:00 a.m.  The School House was built originally in 1853, as a one room school—the first Public School of Ripon.  In 1854, Atty. Alvin Bovay called a meeting to do something about the spreading of Slavery.  This was the beginning of The Republican Party.  The restoration and reconstruction project took about 3 years.  Peter Kasuboski organized the contractors involved.  Previously there wasn’t any climate control and this caused deterioration.  It is now rewired and will have both heating and air conditioning.  All the exterior paint was removed, repainted and roofed with cedar shingles.  The estimated cost was 183,000, but Paula said it will come in under that amount.  In 1974, through the work of George Miller, it was named A National Historic Landmark.

It will be open May to October – 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. and weekends in September and October.

Adult admission - $1.00, children – No charge except when on field trips in large groups.

Thanks much Paula for your work on the project and for this program.

Next Week – May 14

Greeter & Prayer – Kim Holliday

Program- Mary Beth Growney-Selene from Madison – Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator                                                         .speaking on The Rotary Foundation.

Thought for Today:  God – thank You for the ever changing patters of Your world’s beauty.  Keep me from being indifferent to it or taking it for granted.  Amen.

The county wouldn’t be in such a mess today if the natives had adopted more stringent immigration laws.
