Ripon Rotary meets every Monday at noon at Royal Ridges. Attendance is an expected part of membership.

Greeter and prayer – Kathy Ginder

President Lee Prellwitz presiding.

Guests Today:

  1. Visiting Rotarian – Marge Bostelmann of Green Lake.
  2. Visiting Rotarian Dave Anderson of Fond du Lac.
  3. Dave Ginder – cogreeter and guest of wife Kathy
  4. Chris Rydz – Ripon College student and member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

He spent a month last summer during which he met Father Wally Kauboski, and got to meet and talk with the president of Panama. Announcements:

  1. Scheduled program for today had to be canceled as Gary Geisler suffered a heart attack on Friday. All of our prayers are with Gary and Karen. UPDATE: In a Monday evening email Karen said things are progressing well, and fairly quickly. Gary is being moved from the ICU to a regular room, and could be coming home sometime later in the week.
  2. STRIVE – next meeting October 19th at the Ripon Fire Department. Doug Bradley will explain the program to the Ripon School Board at its October 16th meeting.

Special thanks to all of the Ripon Rotary Club members who have donated funds to the STRIVE program.

 Sgt-at-Arms:

Rick Coles (with an assist from Ripon College student Chris Rydz who selected one slip from four) fined all of those who were wearing a sports coat or a blazer. Rick also fined this scribe $1 for taking Daniel to the Wisconsin/Northwestern game on Saturday instead of attending the Ripon College homecoming game.

Program:

Wit the unfortunate cancellation of the Gary Geisler program on changes in international agriculture, this scribe presented some information on the demographic make-up of Rotary members in the United States and Canada, and handed out a questionnaire for members to fill out. NOTE: That questionnaire is attached to this emailing as well. For those who were not at the meeting, please fill out and return to me.

Next week – October 9

Greeter & Prayer – Bill Denkert

Program – Kathy Ginder presents father Wally Kasuboski with an update on Panama.

In the long run men only hit what they aim at.

-         Henry David Thoreau

Respectfully submitted,

Substitute scribe

Lee A. Prellwitz
