Volume XXVII Issue # 18 Nov. 13, 2006 The measure of a man is not how great his faith is, but how great his love is. About 30 members were in attendance today. We have over 50 members. One of the requirements in belonging to a Rotary Club is attendance. Enough said!! Greeter and prayer today – Tim Holz Our President, Lee Prellwitz at the podium. Guesting with us. (1) Arden Gatzke – Our speaker (2) Harold Krueger – Retired Phy ed Teacher at R.H.S. Guest of Rich Carley (3) Hsing Yiy Hsu (Daniel) inbounder from Taiwan. (4) Cali-Cope Kasten – R.H.S. Student of month (5) J. Truesdale – Ripon College Student of month. He hopes to make a career in radio. Announcements: (1) Doug Bradley – STRIVE meeting tomorrow 9:30 – Room 167- RHS. Participate if you can As a Rotarian. (2) Nita – Trimming help needed for Rotary tree at Enchanted Forest, and Rotary window during Dickens of a Christmas, needs participants. (3) Lauri – United Way Banquet tonight at Pub House and Chili and Hotdogs at Millers Tavern Dickens night, to help fund Cookie Daze. Happy Birthday to 100% Attender, Hank Grams. Sung in Rotary Style by the “moron” Chorale!! Best Wishes to Alta and Armon Fischer on 61 years of marriage. (4) Board meeting 2 weeks from today during District Governor visit to our club. (5) SELL-SELL-SELL –Fruit pickup Dec. 8-9. Site to be announced – either at Ford garage or Baird garage. Sgt at Arms- Rick Coles made it simple. For those who read the bulletin – if you brought your voting slip no fines. If you didn’t – pay $1.00 to Penny Anne. Both our guests—Arden and Harold made a cash donation to our club because of the projects we do!! Program: Rich Carley introduced Arden Gatzke, WWII veteran, a Ripon by-product and graduate of R.H.S., Class of 1938. Arden was a Staff Sgt. and Tank Commander of a med. Tank in Europe, over 10 countries. He served from 1941-1945. He described many of his experiences and afterward answered questions from the audience.. After the meeting, he told me that our audience was exceptionally attentive and interested. Thanks for a great program Arden and thank you for protecting our freedom.
