Volume XXVII                                        Issue # 29                                                           Feb. 25, 2006

Worried about tomorrow?  You did that yesterday about today.

It’s Monday noon, it isn’t snowing and almost 40 degrees F. outside—time to attend Rotary Club meeting at 12:00 noon at Royal Ridges of Ripon.

Be greeted by Dave Duehring, who also rendered prayer.

Our President, Lee Prellwitz led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag.

4 Guests joined us today;

(1)     Janira Romero – Spanish Inbounder

(2)     Anne Jankowski – R.H.S. Student of the month.

(3 & 4) Lori Pamenter and Ruth White of Maplecrest Manor – both members to be.

STRIVE: A very successful meeting last week and Doug Bradley commended David Sakrison, Nita Krenz, Tim Holtz, Tom Worrall and Joel Spaulding for attending and serving as mentors.  Doug indicates the kids really enjoy and interaction with Rotarians.

Today our “Moron” Chorus serenaded  Tom Worrall with our famous rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Sgt. at Arms:  Sgt Coles and name the first 6 Presidents of our Country.  Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe & John Quincy Adams.  Our table paid $1.00.

Our sympathy is extended to Dr. Joan Nault on the loss of her husband of over 50 years, Howard B. Nault.  Both Howard and Joan, during their active membership in our Rotary Club, were 100% attenders.  Howard’s funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Blossom Street site.

Program:  John Rockwood introduced David Schoff and his group of 6 – 3rd graders from Ripon and 1 Berlinite, plus their helper.

The group of 6 young boys are known as tadpoles.  The next age group in the Lego League are Frogs.

The boys setup and explained their challenge for this year, on energy use and waste of energy.  Their choice  was the overhead projector, and they built a wind charger with generator, powerline and building housing the project, all on a 15 square base.

It was an 8 week project including research, and the boys met once each week.  The program is not competitive but the boys get to show their project and are rewarded medals to show they participated.

Thanks, Dave Schoff, Dave Duehring, Mary Lyke and Mrs. Grams for this fine program.

Next week – Greeter & Prayer – Dean Rogers

Program—Dave Duehring brings Melissa Stobbe and a presentation about Organ Donation.

Thought for today:  O Lord – no matter how busy this day may be, help me to make time for those who are hungry and comfort those who are hurting.  Amen

Economists say two can live on $5,000 a year, but they don’t say two what.
