Make up – Hank Grams – 100% for all his years as a Ripon Rotarian made up at Wautoma.

Sgt at Arms – Rick Coles and match the letter of the event with the year it occurred.  All events occurred on Oct. 23.  The secret to getting 10 out of 10 and not paying a buck, is to sit at a table with Rotarians who know the answers!!  The only one I knew, was the year Johnny Carson was born, because I knew he was close to my age!! We got 10 of 10.

Program:  Hank introduced Ripon Police Chief, Dave Lukoski.  Dave was born in Ripon and has been in Law Enforcement, over 30 years.  He spoke on the handling of problems in our schools and school safety and violence.  He showed us the 148 pages of problems nationally.

He also spoke to the Commonwealth editorial “Creation of a Culture of Communication”.  In the case of suicides, often there is no forewarning, as people with intent of suicide never verbalize their intent.

In our schools, visitors are identified with orange stickers.  Our local officers visit schools and are seen by the kids.  Officer Butters has an office at R.H.S., a police liaison officer.  The cost of his presence is shared by the City and the School District.  It is suggested that all employees of the School District be identified with I.D. tags!!

The policy of dealing with “Columbine” situations has changed from sit back and wait to active engagement.

Thanks much, Chief David and Hank, for this informative program.

Next Week:  October 30:- Greeter and Prayer – Tommy Hobbs

Program – Armon Fischer brings Mike Frederick – Ripon Fire Chief.

Thought for today:  Dear Lord—Help me to accept that I’m okay and to stop trying to prove I’m okay.  Amen

Those who say “you can’t take it with you”, never saw a car packed for a vacation trip.
