Today we had 30 members present!! Where were the rest of you?? Greeted and prayer – Karen Geisler President Lee Prellwitz, our leader Guesting today: (1) Visiting Rotarian – Marge Bostelmann of the Green Lake Club (2) Shelby Schiller of Smuckers, guest of Pru Precourt and possible prospective member. (3) Erin Mellinthin – RHS student of month – enjoyed our meetings (4) Chris Rydz – Ripon College student of month. A senior, well traveled. Hopes to do humanitarian work, after graduation. (5) Hsiang Yiy Hsu (Daniel) – Our inbounder from Taiwan. Announcements: (1) STRIVE – first meeting with 9 students, very responsive. Next meeting Oct. 19 with the Fire Department. Show your Rotary support and attend. (2) Jane Schueler – Hiway Cleanup, Saturday October 7 at 8:00 a.m. Need 10 volunteers. Takes about 1 ˝ hours. Gloves and workclothes. (3) Dan Tjernagel –R.H.S. Homecoming this Friday. Breakfast available 6:30 – 8:30. Parade at 4:00 p.m. Cook out, behind Middle School before the football game with Fox Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. Go Tigers!! (4) Dr. Blake Waterhouse: Ripon Rotary Foundation Chairman, with $43,000.00. Plans to bring The Foundation out of its “dormant” state. New Vice Chairman – Lee Baird. Sgt. at Arms—Rick intends to fill the kitty. He succeeded on the Midwest Conference football standings. I did know that Ripon was in first , tied. Therefore, I and all at my table contributed, including Chris, our College Student of month!! Program—Bob Gray introduced Jean Surguy, V.P. Patient Services at R.M.C., who presented an informative program on Emergency Preparedness. R.M.C. is part of Region 6-HRSA (Health Resource and Services Administration). (1) Emergency Management Plans. (2) Disaster Plans (3) Hazmat (Decontamination Plans) (4) Pandemic Flu Plans (5) Interim Pharmaceutical Stockpile. (6) Mass Clinic Plan (7) Increased Bed Capacity Plan. Our R.M.C. is prepared!! Thanks, Jean and Bob, for this program. Next week - Oct. 2 Greeter & Prayer – Kathy Ginder Program—Karen Geisler brings her hubby, Gary, speaking on International Development in Agriculture. My thanks to President Lee, in advance, for writing the bulletin next week, while I ‘m at Tag-A-Long Golf Resort with my wife, Naomi, and Armon and Alta Fischer, near Rice Lake, WI.
