Giving is so often thought of in terms of the things we give, but our greatest giving is of our time, and kindness, and even comfort for those who need it.  We look on these gifts as unimportant – until we need them. – Joyce Sequichie Hifler.

It’s Monday noon, come to Ripon Rotary Club’s weekly meeting at Royal Ridges.

Important:  On Thursday, September 21, the meeting of STRIVE, in room 167 at Ripon High School at 9:49 a.m.  It would be great to have some Rotarians there, as we are sponsoring this effort.  If you attend, wear your Rotary Badge.

Sgt at Arms:  Rick was sunk by experts from all tables in a joint effort on the Question about our Constitution.  1787!!!  But that’s o.k., Rick your Red Hawks gat a win at Knox!!

Program:  Charlie Larson introduced the Lyke Family and Tim and Andy presented a most interesting and enjoyable program, about their family’s vacation to Kenya –July 24 – Aug.1, 2006.  Complete with pictures and spot videos.

Todd Goheen had made the same trip about 1 month before the Lykes.  The Lykes visited the Masa North Game Preserve,, St. Ann’s School (the children walk 10 kilometers to school).  The kids speak Swahili but learn English in school.

Can you imagine over a million pink flamingos on one lake?!!  While on Safari, they traveled aboard Land Rovers, the best roads being equal to our worst.  They showed Giraffes, Zebra, Elephants, Hippos, Rhinos, African Buffalo, Warthogs, Lions, Cheeta. Hyenas, Vultures and many other monkeys, baboons, etc.

One River showed crocodiles that preyed on the animals crossing.  The ending was exciting, the animal crashing into a tree!!  Some job of filming and deviltry by the Lyke brothers.

Thanks, so much, to the whole Lyke Family & Charlie for this program.

Next week – September 25

Greeter & Prayer – Karen Geisler

Program – Bob Gray brings fellow Rotarian Tommy Hobbs of R.M.C. (Ripon Medical Center)

Thought for today:  God – So many of Your children in this world have never known peace in their country,  I pray that peace will come to them in their time.  Amen

It’s called “instant credit” but what it really means is “instant debt”.
