PARTICIPANTS IN RIPON High School’s STRIVE program recently received scholarships during a Ripon Rotary meeting. Rotary sponsors and helps organize the program through STRIVE coordinator and Rotarian Doug Bradley, who volunteers his time. The program encourages students to improve their prospects for college or employment by working on team-building skills and personal improvement activities. Now in its second year, STRIVE students received scholarships based on attendance in school and at STRIVE activities. Attending the 2008 scholarship ceremony are, from left, Bradley; STRIVE students Stephanie Leu, Lance Carstensen, Danny Kasuboski, Dan Rigo, Aly Rivers, Shawn Kovalaske,  top-scholarship winner Courteney Groveau; Ripon Rotary President Lee Prellwitz; and Ripon High School Guidance Counselor Steve Hazell. Not pictured is student Garrick Salzman.
